CAHTMA develops standards
for minimum requirements of knowledge and skills for clinical engineering
practitioners and conducts internationally recognized examinations to certify
them. Working with equipment manufacturers and other relevant authorities,
CAHTMA also develops examinations to assess the competency of healthcare
professionals in utilizing healthcare technologies. The examinations
offered by CAHTMA are divided into two types:
Certification of Clinical Engineering Practitioners
(Basic)
Certification of Clinical Engineering Practitioners
(Advance)
The examination modules are designed to meet a
requirement of knowledge and skill for each level.
The certification and recertification examinations will be organized twice per
year by CAHTMA as per the tentative schedule below:
